Here’s a list of my Top 5 WordPress Article Sponsorship Plugins. The one that I’m actually using for this site is called Sponsor My Articles

1. Sponsor My Articles ($17.00)

This WordPress Plugin was released in April 2014 and seems to be the most powerful plugin available. It has the following features:

Ability to set the number of sponsors per post – this is a global setting. For example if it’s set to 3, this means that each article can only have 3 sponsors.
The price for the sponsorship – this is a global setting meaning its a fixed price for sponsoring any of the articles
You have the option to add the Terms and Conditions of the sponsorship and get the sponsor to accept these before publishing the sponsorship advertisement
There is an option to exclude a particular category. So for example, if you have a guest category, advertisers will not sponsor these articles
The only payment option available for sponsors is PayPal
You have the option to chose to approve or decline the sponsor
The sponsorship form has a Captcha feature to reduce the amount of spam
The admin has the option to make the logo mandatory, which reduces the amount of spam
You also receive email notifications

Overall, this plugin is one of the most powerful sponsorship plugin available on the market and can see great potential.

2. Article Sponsorship ($12.00)

This plugin has been out since 2012. I haven’t personally used this plugin but it appears to do the job. Based on the comments it does however miss the ability to display the logos and there is no Captcha options to reduce spam. It also has the option to set the sponsorship to be period based or lifetime. It also has a few more payment gateways besides PayPal like Skrill/Moneybookers,InterKassa.

3. Sponsor Carousel (FREE)

This is a very simple plugin that just displays thumbnail images and banners in a carousel. Each image can be linked to a website

and it can be styled using CSS. The plugin autoscrolls through each image and can be added to a post or page using shortcodes.

4. Sponsor Flipwall Shortcode (FREE)

This plugin creates a sponsor wall with a flip effect. It is a very simple plugin. Below is an image from their website page description how it works. NOTE: This plugin hasn’t been updated for over 2 years.

5. Sponsor Ad Management (FREE)

This plugin allows you to manage sponsor ads within WordPress. The plugin hasn’t been updated for over 4 years so try at your own risk.
