Gyro Bowl
October 3, 2013 / by Marco / Categories : OtherI saw this innovative product in a store several years ago and thought it was quite clever. It’s called a Gyro bowl. I never purchased it because my son was already 4 years old but recently with my second child (daughter 2 years old) I thought I’d look for one so she can use it. Especially for her breakfast meal which was made up of cheerio and rice bubbles. She would always make a big mess and we always find them everywhere in the house.
So what is it?
It’s a bowl for kids. But it’s not any ordinary bowl. It’s a bowl that rotates 360 degrees. YES 360 degrees. Say WHAT?
This means that the food in the bowl is always kept upright. HUH? you say. How’s that possible. Let me show you a video that I took.
And here’s the official promo.
The gyro bowl is made out of plastic so it won’t break if the kids drop it. It also comes with a snap on lid for easy storage of leftovers. It is also dishwasher safe.
How much is it?
I bought mine from ebay for about $12.00 including postage and handling. Apparently you can also find this in most retail stores.
What did I think of it?
It works for my 2 year old, but I’ve heard of some instances if the gyro bowl is dropped then the food just comes out or if you shake it like a crazy old man then the food will also spill out. Either way, for that price it’s better than having to constantly clean the floor. NOTE that this is designed for kids NOT babies or for those who are looking at destroying it. It will work for some but not for others.
